While this tutorial tries to be as self-contained as possible for constraint programming in Alice, it is expected that the reader has already a working knowledge of functional Alice programming. Alice is a functional programming language based on Standard ML, extended with rich support for concurrent, distributed, and constraint programming. As an introduction for functional programming in Alice we suggest the [4] ``Short Tour to Alice `` by Andreas Rossberg.
